The next leg of our Journey begins today. God has given us an amazing new meeting facility in one of Spartanburg’s darkest communities. Alcohol and drugs, crime, violence, homelessness, and hopelessness are the words often used when the name of our new community is mentioned. Maybe…just maybe…that will change. Where there is great darkness, there is great opportunity. A single light in a well-lit room seems to make little difference. The smallest flicker in a dark place, however, cannot go unnoticed.
Our first lease payment was made today. Now what? Simple…we shine.
As I read the blog today I drawn to Ps 23. It occurs to me we will be walking through the valley of the shadow of death, however our folks are living there.
Alcohol, drugs, crime, violence, homelessness, and hopelessness. Waht in the world can I do. The short answer is nothing, at least not in and of myself, but through Christ who strengthens me all things are possible. Certainly a small flicker is possible. Father light me up, Amen.
